Welcome World! It's hard not to get excited seeing the arrivals at Sydney Airport today, as we welcome back the world to Australia. What does this mean? Well, our tourism opportunities are once again on the horizon, our staffing shortages are in arm's reach of reducing and as a mark of one of the last remaining restrictions, it means we are now forging ahead and not looking back. A message that's more than seeing people in what has been a deserted international airport.
Changes to COVID Rules in NSW & ACT Masks will no longer be mandated in most settings in NSW and ACT from next Friday, February 25. They will no longer be required inside venues, grocery stores, or offices. The exception will be on public transport, flights, in airports, and in "high-risk" settings such as hospitals and aged care facilities. However, masks will still be encouraged for indoor settings where you cannot maintain a safe distance from others and for customer-facing retail staff to protect vulnerable people who must access these premises and services. Remember that COVID is still out there and we need to protect the vulnerable and our staff and adhere to your COVID safe plans to prevent spread and infection. If in doubt please reach out to the team at Outdoors NSW & ACT for guidance.
