Adventure Tourism Shines at the NSW Tourism Awards

White Bay Terminal in Rozelle, Sydney, saw the gathering of over 450 people to mark the 33rd NSW Tourism Awards.

Hosted by the Tourism Industry Council in partnership with Destination NSW, the event acknowledged adventure tourism providers spanning categories such as Ecotourism, Adventure Tourism, Take 3 for the Sea Litter Prevention, Tour and Transport, Caravan & Camping Holiday Parks, and Tourism Events.

Dr Phil Hamdorf, President of Outdoors NSW & ACT, conveyed his enthusiasm, stating, "It was an exceptional evening where we observed our nature-focused operators receiving well-deserved recognition at the NSW Tourism Awards. We offer our congratulations to our fellow members, Valley Outdoors and Glenworth Valley Adventures, for achieving finalist status in the highly competitive selection process. Celebrating their success during this event was truly delightful."

Alongside Dr. Hamdorf, other members, including the Blue Mountains Climbing School, YMCA Yarramundi, and Addventageous, were also at the event.

Lori Modde, CEO of Outdoors NSW & ACT, was not only in attendance, but also received the prestigious Dean Gorddard Award for her outstanding individual contribution to the tourism industry. This honour was well deserved and recognises Lori's remarkable and enduring dedication to the sector.

The NSW Tourism Awards will open once again in 2024, and Outdoors NSW & ACT is optimistic about seeing more of our adventure and nature-based experiences in the spotlight.
