ANZSCO Review is a huge opportunity for the Outdoor Industry

ANZSCO (Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations) is the basis for many areas of industry support, development, research and more. The Outdoor industry is not fully understood or recognised in this system as we saw as grants and other support was given based on ANZSCO codes, excluding many people who should have been included by the intention of the programs. Now is the time to help the ABS change and include the Outdoor Industry as a recognised skill set, career option, business area and industry. (See the discussion had on this at the recent Connect & Share).

The ABS is working with several Australian Government agencies to update the Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO) and invites public submissions in the following areas:

Skills in ANZSCO - how skills could be better reflected in the classification.

Maintaining ANZSCO - reflecting the contemporary labour market and better meet stakeholders needs.

How to provide feedback The ABS will be inviting submissions through the ABS Consultation Hub (www.consult.abs.gov.au) across four weeks closing 26 July 2022. Any questions? Please email anzsco.maintenance@abs.gov.au with any questions on this consultation or for further information.

ITS IMPORTANT WE HAVE MANY VOICES ON HOW THE INDUSTRY NEEDS TO BE RECOGNISED IN THE ANZSCO SO PLEASE

HAVE YOUR SAY!
