Camp Fire at Night

OUTDOOR ADVENTURE PROGRAM

A program of self-discovery through going bush. Explore natural places and take on challenges alongside team-mates to uncover strengths, build friendships, and deepen your connection to yourself, others and the bush.

Meet at Able2 Headquarters

Transport:
Participants will travel together to and from the day’s destination in a van leaving from Able2 headquarters. Participants to arrange their own transport to Able2 HQ. *Able2 may be able to support alternate transport options for participants in need.

  • Ground zero – Meet a leader who will help to prepare you for the journey ahead. Go bush together and learn a unique bushcraft skill or two (your choice of navigation; how to use a compass and read a map, fire-building and cooking, and/or campcraft such as putting up a tent and shelter).

 

  • Stage two  - Meet the rest of the crew, participate in unique team building activities and go bush all together for the day!  

 

  • Stage three -  The practice hike; learn how to pack and fit a rucksack, and how to take care of yourself, your team-mates and the bush when on expedition.  

 

  • The Expedition - Go bush overnight  (2 days and 1 night)! Includes hiking through various terrain carrying all the stuff needed to stay overnight in tents.  You will be involved in setting up camp, cooking meals, and creating fire. You will have the option to participate in additional fun night activities. 

 

  • Final Week - Celebrate the challenges and achievements with each other, and any people who are important to you! Participate in reflection activities to understand how your unique strengths will help you face challenges in  everyday life.

The Active Outdoors Kids program is offered free of charge to kids.

 

This program is created from the Bushfire Community Recovery and Resilience Fund, which is a joint Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangement.

 

The program is administered by Outdoors NSW & ACT, and delivered by local businesses in the affected communities.
